Rain Doesn't Dampen Tournament Success
On July 18 the Wynyard Golf Club hosted the 24th annual Jim Davenport Classic. The tournament operates as a fundraiser for Canadian Blood Services and over $1300, from entry fees and silent auction profit, will be donated to that worthy cause. On top of that, $510 was raised for the MS Society.
Forty four golfers dealt with the unpredictable weather of mother nature throughout the day to take part in the tournament. This is the first time in all 24 years that there has been rain for this tournament.
The winners shooting a 106 were Steve Zulak and Cathy McConnell. The tournament was followed by the annual putt around with Ray Popowich and Keith Uhrich being named winners.

The Jim Davenport Charity Golf Tournament is in it's 24th year, and is a fundraising project to help support Canadian Blood Services in their efforts to match donors to recipients in need of bone marrow or stem cell transplants.
Bring your friends to enjoy a day of fun golf. Golfers of all ages and experience are welcome!
There will be supper after the two (2) rounds of 9 hole golf (not included in the tournament fee), followed by the world famous Putt-A-Round to cap the day.
If you're not interested in the golf, you can still join us for supper, and the activities afterwards!
